PCSW Member Qualifications

Qualifications for serving on the PCSW

  • Dedication to the mission, vision, values, and goals of the PCSW
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Leadership
  • Advocacy
  • Willingness to become informed about the needs of constituencies and issues of equity

Responsibilities of membership

  • Attend PCSW events, including meetings and sponsored functions
    • Monthly meetings are typically 4-5pm on the last Tuesday of each month
  • Serve on at least one committee of the PCSW
  • Participate in commission and committee discussions
  • Disseminate information to relevant parties
  • Enhance the commission's public image
  • Encourage and facilitate attendance and participation of others at PCSW functions/ events

Expectations of membership

  • Time: 3-4 hours per month (average)
  • Term:
    • Three years for faculty; professional; executive, administrative, and managerial; support staff; and community representatives
    • One year for student members
    • Terms will begin on July 1 and end June 30 of the appropriate year
