Purpose
The President’s Commission on the Status of Minorities and the Office of Diversity and Equity Programs are pleased to announce the annual MSU Diversity Awards. This annual awards program is designed to recognize individuals who have demonstrated a significant commitment to enhancing diversity at Mississippi State University.
Description
The Diversity Award will be given annually to a faculty, staff and/or student of the campus community who has actively and positively promoted the concept of diversity and improved cross-cultural understanding through his or her positive interactions with others.
Criteria
The award recipient(s) will have demonstrated a high regard for diversity by demonstrating one or more of the following:
A commitment to the spirit of diversity.
Leadership through positive interaction between persons of different cultural backgrounds.
Behavior which illustrates commitment to inclusion of persons within the institution who are members of traditionally under-represented groups.
Eligibility
Who can be nominated?
Nominees must be either employed or enrolled full time as a student at Mississippi State University.
Any individual who has exemplified the advancement of diversity at the University.
Nomination Process
Nominations may be made by faculty, or staff member or student at any level. Nomination forms may be accessed electronically (
